About
This website aims to provide an intensive textual and visual experience of the church motif in Marcel Prousts À la recherche du temps perdu (In Search of Lost Time). The main component is a searchable database that pairs all church-related passages in the novel with images depicting the original churches or related scenes. In addition to the search engine there are regular blog entries from the archive staff, image galleries, a bibliography, links, a rationale, and a discussion forum. All of these are provided with the intention of enabling readers to critique and communicate their experiences in real time.
Teachers interested in using the forum for learning activities are encouraged to contact Jeff Drouin, the editor, at jdrouin@gc.cuny.edu.
